The EPA’s Resource Use Unit has given the go ahead for the Green Healthcare Programme to continue for 2011. As well as expanding to a small number of additional facilities, many of the facilities participating in 2010 will continue to be worked with. In addition, during the autumn, a series guides are to prepared for some of the key areas where hospitals can make resource use savings – such as food waste reduction, increased recyclables segregation, optimising risk waste segregation, water reduction measures and so on.
